# Number of Trades to trail

* **0 ( All trades):**\
  By default, setting the value to **0** means the trailing stop will apply to **all open trades, recovery trades included**.
* **Custom Value**: (e.g., 1, 3, etc.) You can specify a custom number (for example, 3), **only the first 3 trades** (based on the order they were opened) will have the trailing stop enabled.

{% hint style="success" %}
**This setting is especially useful when:**

* You want to **protect only the earliest (entry) trades**, while allowing recovery trades to remain open without a trailing stop that might close them too early — before they have a chance to help recover the original position.
* You want to **reduce exposure**, by selectively trailing only the initial trades. This allows recovery trades to close in profit independently, though it may result in the entry trade taking longer to return to profit.
* You're not using **recovery strategies** and prefer to apply trailing stops only to the **first entry**.
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}

### Example

If set to 1, the EA will apply trailing stop logic only to the **first (entry) trade**. Any additional recovery trades opened after will not use the trailing stop — unless you increase this value or reset it back to 0
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Setting this to a high value (or 0 for all trades) may **slow down the recovery process**, as more trades could be closed before completing the recovery cycle. However, this can also help **decrease overall drawdown** by locking in partial profits earlier.
{% endhint %}
